The telling of korean war stories have already been part of tradition for as long as people can remember. Ancestors have colorfully recalled the sense of patriotism that has emanated out of every heart upon hearing of the tales of the brave. Those who have been part of the struggle between warring parties have recounted their fair share of recollections.

From all these, one is made to question the relevance of storytelling in society. While it is a given that tradition has dictated its patronage and has since continued up to the present, the question still remains. This is an attempt to under the fascination in part.

The reason why people look back through time is because they want to reminisce past greatness. Seeing that they want this to be emulated in the future, storytelling is a way of igniting the fire in every person to dream more and build visions. What helps is that communication exists to help each other in this instrumental sharing.

Stories are formed through various influences. They could be brought about by media or through hearsay. Basically, they stem from somewhere and are passed on to every generation that lives to exist. In a way, it can be seen in a romantic sense because life is all about going through experiences and turning them into recollections.

Talking about this concept is quite an emotional ride for some. Given the gravity of its importance, the only revelation about stories is that they simply exist to be told in whispers or proud declamations. They are there within reach, and there is no single reason as to why it has to be that way.

When you talk about war, it can be likened to any symbolism or occurrence. History has recorded a lot of happenings within nations and among countries that are warring over a property or a debt that cannot be repaid with money, let alone the lessening of pride. In every nation, there is a story to tell about hardships and victories, of deaths and rebirths in a figurative sense.

There is sadness in the loss of patriots who fought for the country up until the very end. On the other end, there is also joy in triumph and victory, albeit even a short and temporary one. In fact, it is more relevant to ask why dispute exists, when it can only cause tension and abuse between nations and the people themselves.

While stories have sense, endless warring do not. Although for some it is reasonable that they are fighting the good fight to reclaim a territory or avenge for the sorrows of victims, resorting to violence and fatalities is still wrong in all levels. One can only draw inspiration in the fact that there are people who are willing to stand by the country and be on the front end of the shield.

Communication is perhaps the main reason why storytelling does exist in the lives of people. With the ability to reach out to one another with the written and spoken word, these korean war stories are brought back to life in the hopes of reminiscing the glories and triumphs of oneness. It is done with the fervent hope that future generations will continue to value their service for the nation.
