So you are planning an event and you want the night to shine and be a good reflection upon you? Well as a magician in derby, I am here to offer you some fantastic advice to ensure you event goes as smooth as possible. The key to any successful event is choosing the right entertainer. You have many options ranging from singers, dancers to magicians and mind readers. The first thing you should do is get to your favourite search engine and type in the entertainment for your local area.

I would strongly recommend keeping your online searches to local entertainment and suppliers only at first. By looking for local suppliers, this will more often than not keep your costs down as the performers will be in the immediate vicinity. A typical example of a local search would be something like "Derby Magician" this is short and to the point so you don't have to wade through lots of unnecessary results. Once you have found a local supplier who seems to fit the bill, have a look at their show reels. A good performer will have examples of their work usually in video or photographic form. Its best to get an accurate sense of what the performer is like before you proceed any further.

Did you like what you saw on these show reels? If so now is the time to get in contact and enquire about prices. A local Derby Magician should be in the region of 300-500 for a couple of hour's entertainment. Please note this may be significantly higher if you are seeking a cabaret or stand up type of show. Most magicians in Derby base these prices on mix and mingle or meet and greet style bookings. Make sure you enquire about what type of performance you are being priced for.

Once you have decided upon the type of performance you require your Derby magician for, you may have to sign a booking form and provide a deposit. Many magicians in derby will be slightly different in the way they confirm the booking but make sure you check the small print before putting pen to paper. Once signed and your deposit is paid, the magician may make contact a week or so before the date to check any last minute details. This is normal and should be encouraged.

When the day of the event arrives, you may want to call the Derby magician again. Don't worry if not though; they should arrive in plenty of time, prepped and ready to perform. This is what makes them a professional. Upon his arrival introduce yourself and inform them if everything is running on time. You may wish to have the magician start at a specific table or group depending on the event itself. From that point leave him to work his magic. Your guests will love it and remember, after all your hard work planning the event, make time to witness the performance yourself.
