A typical hybrid electric vehicle or HEV as the automotive industry aptly quipped and dubbed its newest brain-child and ingenious concept, is a popular option to consider if you are in the market for a new or replacement vehicle in Chicago.

So what really makes a hybrid car a HYBRID anything? It's the dual engine technology at work under the hood; a hybrid car actually has two engines, one electric and one internal combustion which is what has been used in cars since they were first produced. When they are working together these two engines are what gives a hybrid car the get-up-and-go that auto enthusiasts know and love!

A hybrid car's two motors will generally only run one at a time; this is how the vehicles are so fuel efficient. Let's suppose you were cruising along in traffic and come up behind a slower car. The car signals for you to pass, and you just need to get up the speed and power to do so; this is where having two engines cones in handy!

A hybrid car's engines have the capability to work well together or apart. It is because they are together that they have the ability to save you fuel on your typical commute and yet still pour on the power and speed if you happen to need it. So save so gas without having to sacrifice any of the horsepower underneath your car's hood!

Because a hybrid car has two engines they are able to work like two different sides of the same coin. Operating in tandem under most normal circumstances, these engines will get you wherever you need to go, no matter where that might be. Need some extra fuel economy on your way to the office every morning? No problem!

If you are opting for, or looking particularly for a low emission, fuel efficient and downright wonderfully aerodynamic, automotive style and design, then the Hybrids are for you! Currently hybrid models are designed with speed and sleekness in mind, so anyone with the need for additional cargo space will certainly want to consider getting a trailer hitch installed!
