With the 3rd Bond Movie to start Daniel Craig as the world's most noted secret agent in pre-production and expected to start filming in Nov 2011 I take a look at some of the elements I'd like to see in the new film, now known simply as Bond 23 till its official title is disclosed.

The plot is likely to be an original story by regular writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, as well as John Logan. The Ian Fleming plots have all been employed up long ago, leaving 1 or 2 leftovers and details from the books that have never been used, but no entire stories.

One thing that many folks disliked about Craig's first 2 outings as 007 was the absence of the "traditional" gunbarrel sequence that precedes each film. In "Casino Royale" a more modern version was included in the pre-title sequence, which worked well.

However , the follow up, "Quantum of Solace" didn't have the gunbarrel till the end of the film, which did not work at all well. The whole point of this iconic sequence is to get the adrenaline pumping before we've even seen any action, and by placing it at the end the filmmakers had it wrong wholly.

While many have also moaned about the absence of other traditional elements such as Moneypenny and Q, the truth is they had become too clichd. If they're reintroduced the characters need to fit into the grittier world that 007 inhabits since the 2006 reboot.

Many fans would also like a return to the Shirley Bassey-esque type theme song. Chris Cornell did a good job with his song for "Casino Royale", which was impressed by the Paul McCartney penned "Live And Let Die", but the chase up was less well received.

Rumored locations include numerous towns in India as well as Istanbul in Turkey. India was used for location shooting in the Roger Moore film "Octopussy", while the second was used extensively in the second Bond film, "From Russia With Love" as well as featuring at the end of "The World Is Not Enough" and will provide a picturesque location for the new film.

And as for the absence of humor shown by Craig's Bond, perhaps it would be nice to have aone-liner or two. But please do not give us those groan-inducing jokes that were the staple of the Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan years.
