Over the years religions as well as cultures have used specific dress codes in order to be identified. Besides being more easily identified, a certain dress code allows them to reveal different rank levels and positions in the culture and religion. In the case of the black turban, Muslim people use it to show they are descendants of Prophet Mohammad. It's a holy dress code for the majority of Muslim people.

While most of Islam professors have to use a white turban, the number of people wearing them is relatively small in comparison to those who wear black turbans. Despite the fact that there has been a decrease in the amount of wearers, they hold on tight to their believes and want to keep this custom alive. So much so, that even kids are taught about their traditions.

Sikh members of Hindu communities also have to wear a black turban. They do so in order to proclaim their ego obedience. That is to say that the black turban symbolizes their position as well as humility. Sikhs also wear black turbans for ancestry reasons, as they are pleased to show their origins. Those Sikhs who wear white turbans show their education.

Another use of the turbans that is not related to culture or religion is that of those people who wear them just for cleanliness. In particular, African women make use of turbans to ensure their hair remains free from dust and also to make their hairdo endure longer. The color of the turban is not essential but having good taste is. This has made women look for different turban patterns and designs.

Unfortunately, turbans have been associated with certain stereotypes and that has resulted in an increase in discrimination. The majority of religions whose professors wear a turban argue that they only allow the use of a turban to those who know their origins and background for sure. They also claim that they do not judge or discriminate against people who wear turbans because that's forbidden.

However, some have suffered at the hands of people who hold such typecasts. Many who have worn black turbans have been associated with terrorists. As a result, some live with fear that they can't freely move about without getting judgmental stares.

There are lots of communities that allow their men to wear turbans. Both Hindi and Islamic religions allow men to wear black turbans but only at a specific age. Women as well as children have to wear certain clothes to identify them. In certain African countries, women need to wear turbans not only to show their submission but also to protect their hairstyles.

There has always been a relationship between a black turban and cultures and religions. For several people who use turbans it's a means of being clean. Regardless of what the case is, it's important to understand that people don't wear turbans to disturb others. Therefore, we shouldn't allow discrimination on that basis to exist.
