If you desire to get big entertainment in a small package, then you'll like the Apple TV MC572LL/A. You will have a wide range of HD movies and HD TV shows either intended for rent or to own. You can find a large selection from the huge catalogue of Netflix titles or YouTube videos, which can be streamed directly. Your home theater system can show images and music from your laptop or computer, which can be set up with just one HDMI cable.

With the Apple TV you get a remote, which is aluminum and has seven buttons, to easily sit back and watch thousands of TV shows, rented for just 99 cents per episode. The episodes, which are high-definition and commercial free, are yours to rent, where you can have them for thirty days, until you hit play, and then you only get them for another 48 hours. On the iTunes store, there are roughly 7000 flicks with about 3400 titles in HD and many of the new movies come in the store at the same time as the DVD release. The Apple TV can even get connected to your PC or Macintosh so you will be able to view content from there as well.

The latest Apple TV is smaller sized than the older version, coming in at four inches per side. The Apple TV has an internal power source and can be networked with Ethernet or via wireless-N Wi-Fi. Along with being small in size, the Apple TV has a really low power operation that's cool and noiseless. You can actually control your new Apple TV with the bundled remote, or use your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch by using the Remote app, which can be downloaded from the iTunes App Store for free.

In general, consumers are very satisfied with their Apple TV, but there a handful of complaints. The two main problems are the lack of ESPN streaming and the lack of Hulu Plus on the device. ESPN provides sports coverage that is not available on Apple TV's offerings and Hulu Plus has programs that usually are not available as well. Yet another issue was that iTunes must be running on a computer if you wish to access content on the computer. One more complaint for many users is Apple TV's inability to shut off automatically when the TV is turned off. A small issue, but a huge irritation for most people.

The Apple TV is not flawless though it is definitely worth a look. For approximately $100, you can have a lot of content that you want streamed to your tv set. You may want to check out other reviews before you decide to purchase.
