After all these years, we are still wanting to catch them all. After 2 decades, 5 generations, 14 movies, and countless manga volumes, the Pokemon franchise is still going strong.

As a child, Satoshi Tajiri was very fond of catching insects near their home in Tokyo. His idea was to put this hobby into a game and let everyone play it. Getting Shigeru Miyamoto's help, they pitched the game to Nintendo. The idea was for players to fight against each other via their game boy consoles. The game maintains its popularity up to now not just because of the cute and cuddly creatures but because it gives players the opportunity to become masters and trainers.

On February 27, 1996, Satoshi Tajiri's dream came to reality with Pokemon Red and Green. Both versions allowed players to catch, train, and trade 151 Pokemon. Pokemon Blue later on came into the picture. A year later, on April 1st 1997, the anime version of the game was released. It was translated into manga which was entitled the Electric Tale of Pikachu. The Pokemon Company began its operation after the Pokemon Center store was opened in Tokyo on the 25th of April, 1998. During this generation as well, the franchise reached milestones with the introduction of the card game.

In the same year as the Pokemon store was opened, the Nintendo 64 game Pokemon Stadium was released to entertain a wider range of audiences. Also, the very first full length movie was released entitled Mewto Strikes Back.

November 21st 1999 marked the beginning of the 2nd Generation as the Gold and Silver versions were released. One hundred new Pokemon were added to the existing 151. These new versions were released for the new game boy color. Another set came about in the 3rd generation - Ruby and Sapphire. The 4th Gen is significant because it's the 10th year as well of the franchise. In this generation, newer versions Diamond and Pearl were released for the Nintendo DS. By this time several movies have already been released.

With 156 new Pokemon, Generation V is led by a legendary Pokemon Zoroark. These new versions are released for the new DS. As a player we all want access to the Pokemon black and white pokedex, Pokemon black and white walkthrough, Pokemon black and white cheats and many more Pokemon black and white merchandise.
