Never has there been a console with so many useless devices attached to it than the Nintendo Wii. Because this is the perfect platform for the casual gamer, it's unfortunately been invaded by everybody. That includes those that manufacture products that are totally useless.

The only thing that you need to play Wii games are usually the peripherals that already came with your console. That means the Wii remote, as well as the nun chuck attachment.

But yet there are tons of other products that market themselves as being able to help you play games better. Things like bat attachments, or golf club attachments claim to be able to help you.

Most of these products are made just so that people will spend money on them, thinking that it will do something to improve performance on the Wii. But they will not.

There are good peripherals for the Nintendo Wii, but you've got to know how to spot those that aren't going to give you anything, compared to those that will provide you with a great experience on the console.

Usually with a Nintendo device, the best way to tell if something is useful, or useless is whether or not Nintendo manufactures the product. If it's a peripheral that's not manufactured by Nintendo, chances are it's useless.

Don't fall into those decoys, because nothing is going to help you play Wii better than the normal controller that comes with the console. Everything else is really just lying to you so that you'll spend your money.

But then there are also attachments like the Wii Zapper which makes it easier to play shooter games as well. These are the types of handy tools that can make playing games a bit easier.
