Many bar rooms and music clubs will have some kind of lighting installed to create an instant eye catching show. These will usually include different colored cans, flashing lights or maybe just a single moveable white spotlight. A far better and more effective way to create a visual display is to add Moving head lights to your equipment and there are many advantages.

This kind of light is available in various size and wattage options for you to choose from when you are searching for your units. They can be ceiling mounted or on specially designed lighting rigs and even left free standing on dance floors and stages. The lighting music is either activated via sensors or by purchasing some extra equipment they can easily be programmed or operated manually.

This model of professional lighting is very versatile and the units are constructed to rotate through 360 degrees and are directed in different paths. Various color options can be selected depending on what kind of bulbs have been fitted. More variations may be obtained by using multiple light units or when connected to a specialist DMX controller.

If the lighting rig is operated using the sound activation option they will rotate and swivel in conjunction with the broadcast music. The way in which they move will be very random and not controlled and can alter depending on the volume levels. When they have been connected to a control box they can be programmed in advance to operate to a sequence selected by the operator.

When a lead is the focus of the lighting, operating these lights through a box allows the lighting technician to track the movements across the stage while they are working. These units can also function in a likewise way to a spot to highlight a performer and areas of interest to the crowd. Both the colors and beams may be dictated by the operator to sync the light show to activity on stage.

For some better effects a moving head can be synchronized to a DMX box enabling a different combination of movements and patterns. Images can also be projected on to different areas of the room and some interesting effects created. The amount of bulbs in the light and the channels used to program it will determine the level of effects that may be achieved.

If you choose to buy and fit a complex system that can be programmed you will need the correct type of cabling and plug fittings to connect everything. A lighting system should always be fitted by a qualified electrician and checked for operational safety. Much of the cabling and connecting plugs can be quite costly but it is advisable to get the best quality that you can.

Every lighting rig will need some ammount of routine maintenance. The bulbs will blow after time and will require replacing. Lenses need cleaning of dust to keep a sharp image. Inside the unit itself the motors that swivel the lights will need inspecting to ensure they continue to function properly.
