The ultimate test was when the boys entered the motorcycle into a race at the Milwaukee State Fair. Amazingly, the motorcycle came in fourth which was extremely exciting for Harley and the Davidson boys as well as the rider, Edward Hildebrand. After which, the boys began placing ads in a local trade journal which helped promote the brand while the boys focused on building the company.
