Graphic t shirts have become quite popular in recent years among teenagers and young adults alike. The items are typically cotton blends that feature cartoon characters, automobiles, famous quotes, or other graphics on their fronts. Due to their increased popularity, the shirts can get very expensive, which is why many people choose to make their own instead.

To make a t-shirt of your very own, gather up the supplies you will need to start. These will include a roll of freezer paper, an x-acto knife or scalpel, fabric paint, and a plain top. Usually, the butcher paper, another name for freezer paper, can be found in grocery stores near the aluminum foil and wax papers. The fabric paints can also be purchased at craft and hobby shops and come in a variety of colors.

Choose the particular image or design you want to transfer on your shirt first. You'll have to later cut it out on your own so be sure to not pick something difficult to do on your very first attempt at it. Trace or draw the image you decided on onto the freezer paper's matted side.

Next, attach the butcher paper to a cutting mat or stable surface and slowly cut the image out with the exacto knife or small scissors. You are creating a stencil so be sure and only cut out the necessary parts of the graphic. Make sure to save any 'inside pieces', like the center of numbers and other details, and set them aside for later.

Heat your iron and position the stencils over the tee with the waxy side facing down. When you find the right spot for them, iron over them until the pieces have sufficiently sealed to the cotton shirt.

The last step consists of simply painting over the stencil carefully in the color that you chose earlier. Once you're finished, set the item aside for a few hours and then peel the paper off once it has dried. Read more about: graphic t
