Pianist should make piano hand exercise an element of their plan to help conserve adroit flexible fingers. Just as athletes employ muscles, so do piano players. Exercising those muscles every single day helps keep them enhanced and performing properly. Exercising equips you with the capability to perform several varieties of music more proficiently, such as long legato notes and abridged staccato notes.

Play musical scales to exercise your hands. Sit up tall on the piano bench. The body's posture affect the rest of the body's alignment. Situate your right hand on the keys. Beginning with you thumb, play growing notes, moving up the scale with each finger. Use different finger to play each note. Start off slow until you get the hang of it. Make your notes coherent. Once you reach the top note, go the other way. Relax your pinky, and finish the note with your thumb. The stronger you become, increase your speed.

Your forearms and hands become relaxed and loose as you massage them. This enables you to remain relaxed and agile. Place a tennis sized ball on sturdy exterior. Gently and slowly, roll your forearm back and forth along the ball. Maintain relaxed shoulders. Keep this up for at least a minute, then relax for about 30 seconds. Now place your forearm palm-up on the table, and then move the ball to the other hand. Gently roll the ball over your wrist, hand and forearm. Perform this exercise for one minute, relax about 30 seconds and continue throughout the day.

According to Piano Fundamentals, stretching your palms help when you play. Put your right palm over your left palm. Your left arm should be going towards the right and your right are going towards the left. Set your hands in front of your chest. Intertwine your pinky fingers and your thumbs. The remaining fingers should be your three middle fingers; they should be touching your palm by now. Slowly join your hands together and fan your palms out. Maintain this posture for about 10 seconds. Relax your hands. Duplicate this exercise twice.

Curl your fingers to strengthen them. Put your right hand in the correct position on the piano. Curve your fingers so that it looks like you have a ball. Set your fingers on the right keys. Act as though you're playing a staccato note and move your index finger quickly. Do it five times, relax for four seconds, and then do the other fingers. Move on to your left hand. Hitting the keys and holding the notes for two seconds is another exercise curling your fingers. Gradually start using both hands at the same time during exercises.
