If you want to study the acoustic guitar, you're in for a real treat, and the same is true for your audience. Many who set out to learn how to play can't comprehend how many well-known songs on the radio only use a few chords. You will find very popular songs available today which are unbelievably easy to learn. To show you some examples, here are a handful of easy guitar songs you can actually learn.

1. For What It's Worth This one was originally played by Buffalo Springfield, and was from the late 1960's. The majority of this song makes use of E and A chords, and chords C and D are used during the chorus. This song can be played pretty quickly, and there are all sorts of instructions all over the web telling you how to play it.

2. Knockin' on Heaven's Door It may seem incredible at first blush, but this Bob Dylan (no, not Guns 'n Roses!) song is very simple to play. There are good YouTube's on how to play this song, and when to play the chords and even covering how long you ought to hold every note.

3. Redemption Another one of the top ten easy guitar songs to be taught early on is Bob Marley's classic, Redemption. You might notice up front that it uses more chords, but they are all basic chords you will eventually learn. Bob Marley used chords: Am, Em, C, G and D. Though there are other parts to this song, it is a good challenge for novices and this song is always a hit.

4. Wish You Were Here This song is one that was made popular by the 60's hit parade, Pink Floyd. You may note there are more than just a few chords tossed in this song, but they are all paced out and you'll have time to get your hands in place before you need to play the next one. As you play this song, the chords that are played are G, D, Am, A and Em. Once you know how to play this vintage song, it will be a real treat for your listeners, and they don't need to know how easy it was to learn.

5. Time of Your Life The fifth of the easy guitar songs that you can play acoustically is known as Time of Your Life, made prominent by the popular alternative band Green Day. This song is rather repetitive, you are going to find. As a consequence of that, it is simple to play (you even play a note nine times over at one juncture). It might sound basic, but it's a piece of art. This song will show you the G, D, C and Em chords.
