Trading Places: This movie is testing heredity vs. environment by switching a "have" preppy Aykroyd and a "have-not" road hustler Murphy. Murphy, in his second film, is a powerhouse, and makes up for director Landis' pleasures like a subplot engaging a horny gorilla. Faces: Highly personal drama in regards to numerous infidelities is one of the few Cassel films to become a big hit. Here's a commanding film with awesome action, particularly by Carlin and Cassel. Spellbound: Riveting story of psychiatrist Bergman trying to expose Poke's hang-ups; Dali fantasy patterns, industrious and Oscar winning Miklos Rozsa helps Hitchcock build another brilliant film. Cast includes Alfred Hitchcock, Ingrid Bergman, Gregory Poke, Leo G. Carroll, John Emery, Michael Chekhov, Wallace Ford, Rhonda Fleming, Bill Goodwin, and Regis Toomey. (111 minutes,'45)

The Last Shot: Amusing charade, empowered by a real tale, telling the story of an FBI man (Baldwin) who makes believe to produce a film so he can trap a mobster with ties to the Teamsters union. Baldwin starts to like his "role" as a movie producer, as he turns his idea into reality. Cast includes Matthew Broderick, Alec Baldwin, Toni Collette, Tony Shalhoub, Calista Flockhart, Tim Blake Nelson, Buck Henry, Ray Liotta, James Rebhorn, Jon Polito, and Pat Morita. (93 minutes, 2004)

Bolt: This is an animated family adventure film about Bolt, a dog actor. On his TV series Bolt is and action super hero. When he is accidentally shipped to New York, he thinks his super powers will get him home. He teams up with, Mittens the cat, and Rhino the hamster, and tries to get back to Hollywood.

Dracula: Gloomy retelling of the Bram Stoker classic, with Langella's esteemed Broadway characterization lost among hip terror gimmicks and ill-imagined changes in the original tale. The movie was filmed in England. Cast includes Blunt Langella, Laurence Olivier, Donald Pleasence, Kate Nelligan, Trevor Eve, Diane Duvitski, and Tony Haygarth. (109 minutes,'58)

Hook, Line & Sinker: Conceivably ludicrous premise about allegedly dying man who runs up one hundred thousand in credit card debt. Even Lewis fans can be bored. Cast includes Jerry Lewis, Peter Lawford, Anne Francis, Pedro Gonzalez-Gonzalez, Jimmy Miller, and Kathleen Freeman. (91 minutes,'51)

Scandalous John: A Disney comedy Western chronicling what occurs when older, lovably ornery rancher Keith refuses to sell his land to a developer. Keith's wonderful performance as a contemporary Don Quixote gives this one a lift. Cast includes Brian Keith, Michele Carey, Rick Lenz, Harry Morgan, and Simon Oakland. (113 minutes,'70)

The Man in the Iron Mask: Handsome retelling of the reliable Alexander Dumas story of a guy unreasonably imprisoned and encased in an iron mask-since his very existence challenges the reigning baron of France, the youthful, self-centered Louis XIV. The destiny of both are eventually in the hands of the aging although still enthusiastic Musketeers. It could be difficult to miss with that cast; the film is relatively enjoyable, however it does go on too long. Cast includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Jeremy Irons, John Malkovich, Gerard Depardieu, Peter Sarsgaard, and Hugh Laurie. (132 minutes,'98)
