Many people believe that behind this door is a secret chamber where Khufus remains are buried. Others believe that the mystery of these doors had been just to confuse thieves who may be after Khufus treasures. Still others claim that the secret doors are a puzzle which once solved will reveal exactly where Khufus remains are hidden.
Another exploration took place in 2002 with a new robot able to drill through the door found in 1992 in the Southern shaft. After drilling and inserting a camera, the robot took pictures of another secret door. This was one was only 20 centimeters from the first door! Explorers struck again in 2014, this time not in the Southern shafts but in Kings section. The robot discovered hieroglyphs made in red paint and carvings in stone. Most likely made during the construction of chambers, the hieroglyphs and the carvings were estimated to be 4,500 years old. If the meanings of hieroglyphs are deciphered, according to scientists, we would have more information regarding the construction and purpose of these shafts.
