The bass doesn't over power the mids or highs which is ideal for me. I would suggest these headphones to friends, but would alert them of the volume issue first.
Many people complain about it hurts after a couple of hours, my opinion of what they say is; I weared my Sony MDR-XD200 Headphones for approx 11 hours each day by 5 days per week. There's just one wire coming out of these headphones - on the left side (my connection would be to the left so I love the one wire thing).
Did not notice any type of difference between film and songs. If there is an opportunity you may want richer sound, so if you have some extra bucks I recommend you continue searching for head phones. I really like sitting and hearing songs as loud as I could possibly get it and listening to acoustic research wireless headphones is the best way of achieving that with out making your neighbor or loved ones angry. This makes it seem like you are trying to bring back a trend in the 70's.
They lasted one whole week before the sound in each earphone went mute. Delicate midrange sounds are often heard. They are most likely one of the most comfortable supra-aural infrared wireless headphones available, especially in this budget range. The letter s and the letter f are heard in a high end pitch. I suppose I did not read carefully enough prior to searching "buy headphones online", everything's fantastic, but the cord is about ten feet long! I purchased these headphones for work to shut out the noise from some of the adjacent cubicles. They do fully enclose your ear - they do not sit on top of your ear like some headphones. The ear-cup covers the whole ear and doesn't sit on top of earlobes unlike a few of the other designs. One "con" is the fact that these headphones are very big, as in measure about 2" out from your face and that is how far these stand out. General I would say these headphones are horrible. The general feel for these Auvio wireless headphones is extremely plastic. Colleagues adjacent to my cube can listen to almost anything I play. They most likely aren't effective well in noisy environments, like a wireless home stereo system. Though, the cord is simply too long.
And don't think these provide great bass response. Now I do not have a golden ear, however these measure up to people well enough. This evaluation is targeted at individuals with eyeglasses and whose ears get pinched between your eyeglass arms and the earphones. Sound is more than adequate, great bass sound, comfortable but just a little heavy after more than an hour or so of listening. I really like them!
Quality of sound is nice - a little bit bass shy if you are accustomed to listening to phones with a heavy bass emphasis, however they sound pretty flat to my ears. They are fantastic headphones, fantastic quality of sound, looks awesome, comfy, fits any head, and light weight.
It does not make a difference on the sound.

The only real downside I believe is the lack of weight for these sound proof headphones. There's only really two bad things I'm able to find about these infrared wireless headphones.
