It is not always easy to find just the right television for your needs. Depending on your budget and what you are looking for will help you decide easier on making that decision. If the Panasonic TX-P42G20 has caught your eye, here is some information that might make it easier on you and your decision.

First thing that might interest those on a budget, is that this particular 42 inch HDTV in Panasonics G20 series is the cheapest model that they offer. One thing to remember is that if you are looking for one with 600Hz that is a plasma, then the Panasonic TX-P42G20 is the only one in this series that has this.

The Panasonic TX-P42G20 looks are not going to turn heads when someone walks in the room with its glossy black color and grey trim, it is rather unassuming but if you are not looking for something to spruce up a room, then you will not mind its plainness.

The Panasonic TX-P42G20 has a nice Freestat HD tuner that allows you access to HDTV broadcasts and you also will not need a converter box to receive free digital channels should you not have cable or satellite.

There are different connections that will make this unit a complete entertainment center with three HMDI ports for three of your favorite electronic devices, S video input, there are two Scarts, component to composite connections, memory card holder slot for all your pictures and/or videos along with a VGA input so that you can add your computer as well.

The Panasonic TX-P42G20 comes with Dolby stereo surround sound which is a lot better sound system than a lot of other similar televisions on the market.

One disappointment in this model is that it does not support the Panasonic Vieracast Internet service which comes with some of the other Panasonic models on the market.

When setting up the Panasonic TX-P42G20 for the first time is quite easy but at first you might think that the overall color and clarity of the picture is lacking. The reason for that is that it is set to the default mode of 'normal' and has lower quality than expected. In order to receiver a far higher quality picture you will need to make sure that the television is in either the Movie or Dynamic preset modes.

The Panasonic TX-P42G20 comes with intelligent frame but again this is a feature that is not preset when you first set up your television. Again you will have to manually set this particular feature yourself.

When watching normal shows and movies with out high paced motion the television will broadcast at 25 frames per second. As soon as you switch to something more fast paced like an action movie or sports it will switch to 600Hz to completely remove any blurring. This is a great feature for all sports fans.

Should you be looking for a television that you just want to watch for general purposes and are not into a lot of movies and games, then you might want to look at ones with lower price tags, but if you are looking for a medium priced set that is great for the movie buff and/or gamer, the Panasonic TX-P42G20 could be what you are looking for.
