Meditation has been around for around two thousand years, it's been a way of life for mankind. In fact every religion that is practiced by men uses some sort of meditation as a way of achieving a higher form of spiritual consciousness.

From its initial use by religious priests, the practice of meditation has also been gradually employed by ordinary people as they too discovered its various benefits.

For those who are new to meditation, it is simply the practice of concentrated and intense focus on sounds, objects, ideas, breathing rhythm, action or movement to be able to intensify perception, cut down stress, enhance relaxation, personal and spiritual growth.

When meditation was first out it originally was only practiced along with some sort of religious traditions to build your spiritual belief higher, but now it is used by several people to help relieve different stresses and pains.

Western medical practitioners are realizing that meditation has help people to cope with different health issues, so they are beginning to promote it to their patients more and more. In fact they have begun to use it along with medicines to help and relieve aches and pains for several people.

It is very interesting that medical clinics and even hospitals are starting to offer the practice of meditation as a method for several of their patients to improve their health. In fact meditation has begun to be used as a method of treatment of some diseases. Also it's being used as a way of improving overall quality of life for people who are suffering with chronic, debilitating or even incurable illnesses.

Current health care application of meditation focuses on three particular approaches: transcendental meditation, relaxation response meditation and mindfulness meditation (also referred to as mindfulness-based stress reduction).

Meditation centers on the seven major chakras, which correspond to the body's major endocrine glands, the power and of course the environment of the universe.

By practicing meditation for at least 30 minutes daily greatly contributes to the balanced and harmonious interdependent functions of the body's major chakras with one another.

You will notice the energy flowing from the root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye, and finally the crown chakras while meditating. Your whole body's biological, emotional, and spiritual aspects become more nourished and balance the body cleansing physical, emotional and spiritual toxins.

With chakra meditation you will need to have deep concentration, and because of this uninterrupted flow of energy your body will also have a major boost to the chakras and the corresponding endocrine counterparts.

A neat way to look at it is a turbocharger for your body, or even a catalytic converter that will gather outside energy and harness it and channel it out to the different parts of the body and the chakras.

And since these energy centers (chakras) are part of our body's physical and metaphysical manifestations, their fine tuned performance affect our daily lives, directly or indirectly, emotionally, physically, intellectually and spiritually.

You have several ways that you can practice the art of chakra meditation, but no matter how you go about doing the meditation you biggest step in the chakra meditation is to allow the state of focus to go and spread throughout the whole body.

Once you begin chakra meditation you are not going to notice an immediate change in your life. But with time you will find that you are going to experience a more positive outlook on life, and your perceptions will be sharper. Also you will be able to understand events and behaviors better. Meditation has been shown to be responsible for peoples overall better lives, and this is both physically and emotionally.

The biggest difference that most people notice from practicing chakra meditation is their ability to concentrate better and the awareness of things around them. This benefit will be noticed in only weeks of beginning, just imagine if you've been doing chakra meditation for years!

Other benefits of chakra meditation is a heightened creativity, and resourcefulness is more enhanced since the perception of people is higher, and they notice more events that are happening around them. Plus with chakra meditation it is noticed that ones sleep is better and deeper. With deep sleep a person's overall health will be improved.

Daily chakra meditation will also decrease stress in your life, from work, family, and inter-personal relationships. This is because you are more able to control your emotions because you have more patience. Also with less stress in your life, health problems will not be so prevalent in your life.

Normally one's overall health is greatly improved through the practice of meditation. It will help to lower blood pressure, which in turn will reduce the risk of heart disease and strokes. Also with meditation stress of people who suffer from chronic health conditions has been lowered.

Even if you only practice meditation for half an hour daily you will be surprised on how much it will help to reduce your stress, improve your health, and just in general make your days better, and more productive.
