Keith Urban's arrival in Knoxville, Tennessee comes on the heels of a career in which the country music star has sold millions of records, achieved platinum status certification more than once and based on his own music and instrumental ability.

Keith was raised in Australia, and he started his successful solo career in 1999 with the release of his self-titled album 'Keith Urban'. Keith has also collaborated as a guitarist with such artists as a the Dixie Chicks and Garth Brooks. He worked his way into country music stardom in the heart of country music, Nashville, Tennessee. In 2002, his single "Somebody Like You" exploded on the country music scene and immediately created a following.

Several platinum-selling releases later, he has earned a legion of die-hard fans, and successfully made the leap from musician to celebrity. A well-publicized marriage to Nicole Kidman and spotlights at the Grammy Awards and Country Music Awards helped raise Urban's visibility, and in 2007 he was able to issue a Greatest Hits album.

Keith Urban is no longer just another country musician, filling arenas around the globe and performing at such high profile events as Live Earth concert and the Live 8 Concert . Urban's shows are viewed as sincere, energetic and honest, and he has the ability to play both large and small venues with ease.

Urban's current album is titled "Defying Gravity", released in March of 2009, and critics thought highly of several tracks on the studio productions. The standout tracks include "If I Could Ever Love" and the popular "Sweet Thing". As one of the higher selling releases of the period and debuted at number one. Urban followed the release with an appearance on American Idol, where he performed his single "Kiss A Girl".

Along with young country star Taylor Swift on some of his dates, Urban's tour includes both U.S. and Canadian dates in all of the major cities. The tour not only supports the latest release but also Urban's greatest hits.

Tennessee welcomes Urban on August 28 to the Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, TN. As Urban's fame and fan base continue to grow, his summer tour has been in demand and will be a fantastic show just down the interstate from Nashville.
