Many times two things might look the same yet be very different when looked at more closely. This is true of a parody documentary that looks like a real show with truthful information but is not anywhere near the real thing. This is why it is important for television viewers to know the difference so that they will not take the show meant for humor too seriously.

Since there is so much of this type of programming in the world today, it is important for the audience to understand the difference between what is real and what is simply humorous. Real reporters have to do a great amount of ground work before the information airs on television or is presented in a movie format. They have to make the right connections to the story.

They have to make sure that they are talking to the right people and reading the right documents that are available to them. They also have to make sure that their method of going about collecting this information is legal. If they are not doing their job in the right way, they can be sued or loose their job for breaking the law or not following the rules of their employer.

On the other hand, those creating a satirical show spend more time studying the program that was presenting the real story. They do not do their own research or spend time getting factual or truthful information. They study how the show was put together, how the interviews were done, and how the information was received by the audience.

Something as simple as the way a person holds their head, or how aggressive they might be with their presentation can be used in an exaggerated manner for comedy. The creators of the satire might also use the opportunity to point out a claim that sounds absurd when closely examined. By taking it to extreme, the viewer can see the humor in it.

However, even something that is meant to be funny can still be offensive to some people. They might be upset at the fact that they took the show seriously when all the while it was a joke. They might also think that no one should create a satirical program that uses serious issues as a way to create something that is entertaining.

Yet, on a serious note, it takes a serious amount of work to present these satirical shows. One has to be able to see things from various points of view and this is not easy for many people to do. The creators of these shows also have to look for things within the real show that can be exaggerated to the point of being silly which can also be a challenge.

This is how the creators of these shows are able to take two or more things that are seemingly unrelated to create something new. It may appear to be close to the real thing, but it is really just a different way at looking at the world. This is why there is always an audience who appreciates these forms of entertainment.
