Many people are highly influenced by celebrities and their behavior. We watch celebrities act on television and in movies and as a society we have placed them up on a pedestal. Not only do we become obsessed with the characters they play but also their private lives. In turn, celebrity realty television shows are all over the networks. The paparazzi make tons of money taking pictures of celebrities that we are willing to pay for. Our society is insanely interested in these individuals, their lifestyles and their assets.

The amount of money that celebrities get paid is almost unimaginable to the rest of the population. This is even more extreme when they are considered a top actor or actress in the industry. With all of the money they are earning they are able to purchase assets that the majority of the population could not even dream of affording. One of the most expensive assets that celebrities own are their homes. Beyond that, the majority of celebrities own more than one multi-million dollar home in the most exclusive areas in our country. The location of these homes often makes them so expensive, like waterfront homes. Even though our country is currently fighting through a housing crisis, celebrity homes seem to have avoided the same situation. The name recognition of a celebrity alone can drive up the cost of a house and take it off the market faster. This is true whether a celebrity currently lives in the home or has ever in the past.

These homes have mutliple everything; bathrooms, bedrooms, garages, and views. These homes usually have all sorts of extra features as well, like home theatres, pools, tennis courts and basketball courts. Besides the actual homes themselves, celebrities spend lots of money decorating them with expensive furniture and art. Another common thing linked with celebrity homes are guest homes on the same property.

Besides owning nice expensive homes, celebrities also often spend their money on expensive cars too. The most common pictures of celebrities in the magazines are usually them in their cars. Often times cars have greater sales numbers after a celebrity or many celebrities are associated with driving them and some car companies have even done better business with the public after a celebrity is seen driving in that car. Celebrities also often own other means of transportation like expensive private jets or boats.

We are so interested in celebrity assets that entire television shows are based on showing us the personal lives of celebrities and the things that they own. Our society is obsessed with these celebrities and their possessions because they live a life that we can never have or even dream of having.
