Taking kids on any kind of car journey can be stressful to say the least, but what happens if the car is designed with the mummies in mind? Five mummy bloggers including Myleene Klass were given the chance to road test the new Vauxhall Meriva to see what they really thought of this sleek, family-focused car.

Who would have thought a family car could make life such easier for a mummy?

"It's not every day I get to test drive a brand new car, designed especially for parents in mind and to be honest, I was expecting one of those huge mummy vans you see at the school gates... The new Vauxhall Meriva was completely different to this. When it arrived I breathed a sigh of relief that it wasn't bright orange and that it was a sexy looking car! I currently drive a convertible Audi because I have a fear of looking 'mumsy', but the new Meriva is sexy enough for mum's to enjoy the functionality whilst knowing they're driving a car that looks fab." says Myleene.

Myleene Klass also says "Talking of brilliant but simple solutions, the new Meriva has the tiniest piece of equipment, which I think is genius! There is a plastic clip on the dashboard that is designed to keep and display your parking ticket in. I have received so many fines for not displaying my parking tickets properly that I love this very small but important feature! It's so simple, why haven't all cars got this clip? I would buy this car for the flex doors and parking ticket clip alone!"

And the storage available is amazing too "I adore the New Meriva, I want it and I'm a woman of my word! The storage is perfect for me and as someone who (like all mamas) does a lot of running around, it feels like its working with you, not against you! (Any mama that's been stuck in a tight car with tons of shopping to unpack and a toddler that's refusing to get out of the car will identify with me!) If I could design a dream car I would go for storage, storage, storage. Cars should be like big handbags - fabulous on the outside and full of popcorn and raisins! Mamas want stylish cars, but also cars that help them in their very important job as mummies. We want to be able to store away emergency lip gloss, wet wipes, make-up, nappies and have a secure coffee/drink area well away from little fingers. My dream car would have a bin in it - I seem to accumulate so much rubbish, parking tickets, snack wrappers and as any mum knows, raisins, rice cakes, Barbie clothes...but the storage compartments held all of this!" says Myleene.
