Playing Mafia Wars on Facebook and Twitter is a lot of fun, but it's's a load more fun when you build a large and powerful Mafia family. The more Facebook or Twitter friends that you can get to join your folks the more powerful your family becomes. If you want to dominate the region, you simply cannot do it with a family of 3.
The first few times you play Mafia Wars you're going to have to learn some simple lessons. You may be stole by other players and you can go out and rob other players. This occurs when there is fight started. The winner takes away points and cash. You can be iced, just as in real world Mafia. Unlike real world Mafia, once you are iced you can come back to life.
If this is your first Mafia Wars experience, you want to complete the first mission by clicking on the button that says "do mission". Do the mission again, and again, till the % bar under the mission is at one hundred percent. You do this with all of the missions. You complete each mission till the percentage bar is full 3 times. This is named completing a tier and it is a fast way to build up your levels and gain extra money.
Who doesn't want to move up thru the ranks? Starting as a street bully, you get to climb up to an associate and eventually make your way up to Godfather. You can take over parts of Cuba if your Mafia is huge enough and strong enough.
Other players can attack your Mafia Wars family. If you do not put the money you have earned in the bank, you leave yourself exposed to attacks that steal your money. When you attack other Mafia families you build up your ability level so you have a more adept family.
Once you are all on one another's Facebook or Twitter pals list you simply send each other your links to join one another's families. You'll soon be gathering loot as relations take you out on missions and you'll be able to build up your special gift collection as you and your friends send special gifts forwards and backwards.
