At some point many have thought of being a hero. This was usually during childhood when most would have just dreamed the craziest things. But now, there is a chance to fight for a noble cause and that cause is firefighting. Even the origin of the cross was from the patron saint of firefighters, Saint Florian.

There are many programs and trainings that can give you the qualifications to serve in this field. A community college in Arizona offers these programs with really good training. The Florian knights firefighter MCC course aims to tech you the skills and knowledge to land your first gig, to say the least.

It is not just all about muscle and agility, it also largely involves solving problems in critical situations that may cost lives. The lessons embedded in these courses also focus on knowing the causes and precautions to fires. Since the job is pretty risky certifications and even licenses is a must.

The training these facilities provide are nothing like what most citizens learn in seminars. These are extensive and thorough knowledge that has been proven and tested in the field. Comprehensive knowledge and disaster preparation programs are designed to make sure that the students will do well during the actual situation. Applications may be denied for many possible reasons.

There is physical fitness needed. This is probably the first admission criteria considered, apart for legal age. This job puts your life on the line by climbing and going in burning down places among the many other probably bizarre things you might need to do at some point.

A certificate in fire science involves learning about tactics, strategy and safety and other related activities. You get to learn the qualifications of being an Emergency Manager, Management Planner, Operations Coordinator, Environmental Compliance Planner and other public service matters including in local, federal and international government industries and such. There is a larger chance for you to get into the field if you get the required courses offered by the university or local program.

Before being able to participate as a professional, one has to go through at least 600 hours in training within 12 to 14 weeks. The candidate needs to be at least 18 years old, in some cases 21 with a high school or college diploma, a clean criminal record and corrected 20 20 vision. Not everyone is able to get through the general screening phase. There are three exams to qualify for admission. First there is a written test, a Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) and an aptitude exam. The written exam covers spatial awareness, reading comprehension, mechanical reasoning, logic, observation and memory.

Preventing fires, controlling volatile materials, inspection of possibly hazardous areas and treating injuries in accidents are only some of the things that these professionals need to learn. There is also the matter about using equipment like the huge hoses that release water at incredible pressures, chain saws, ladders and axes. The use of fire extinguishers should actually be a necessary knowledge for everyone.

Choosing to save lives even when your life is put at risk is no doubt a very noble cause. Not only are there a lot of professional hazards involved but wanting to be a firefighter require great dedication and motivation to a single cause. The people in these industries definitely need to have higher pay and a better benefits with the amount of work that they do.
