The human experience is one of wonder. Throughout history, human beings have proven themselves capable of acts of greatness, of climbing all kinds of ladders and reaching all sorts of brass rings. There is a myth that only the starving artist is pure. That myth is utter hogwash. Artists have the same needs as any other person. They have the same need to eat and to keep a roof over their heads. Everyone wants art, but no one thinks they should have to pay for it.

But if they are paid, then they should be able to deliver the goods. When they commissioned to make a mural, they should be able to make that mural. They should be able to make more than stick figures and should demonstrate enough proficiency in the field that they will be able to color inside the lines.

When a person orders a pizza, they might be able to get it for free if it does not arrive within thirty minutes. A commission is not like that. Even if the painter takes too long, the customer is still liable to make payments. As such, it is important to hire a painter that can get the job done.

The world runs on subjectivity. Artistry is among the most subjective things in the world. Still, it is an important facet of living.
