The full name of this artist is Ashely Nicolette Frangipane. She coined her stage name Halsey from her first official name, Ashley. The singer-songwriter is in her early twenties, and she began her career as a little child. Her debut album debuted two years ago, and it went by the name Badlands. Many of her fans are unaware that her name Halsey is a clever rearrangement of her original name Ashley. The performer was born and bred in a small town known as Clark in the New Jersey area. Her parents are of mixed origins. Her mother boasts of a mixture of Hungarian, Italian and Irish blood. The father, however, has an African-American background. Her diverse ethnicity has contributed immensely to her unique taste and style.

The artist known as Halsey got exposed to playing musical instruments at a very tender age. By the time she hit fourteen years, she was already conversant with playing instruments like the viola, cello, and the acoustic guitar. At sixteen, she got diagnosed with bipolar disorder. That diagnosis did very little to deter her from continuing her pursuit of greatness. She played music to raise the bills to pay her rent.

Her break to the mainstream came about as a direct result of her deliberate efforts. She used to love listening to Taylor Swift among other famous singers of our time. She recorded herself singing and playing the cover songs of this successful and already established artists. One of the songs that made the day for her was the popular breakup song by Taylor Swift known as I knew You Were Trouble.

The gifted singer has collaborated with many bigwigs in the industry. To-date she has featured on the tours and the works of legendary artists like the band known as the Kooks, Imagine Dragons, and even the Young Raising Sons. Hasley got voted as the most remarkable artist on the South by Southwest music Festival.
