Alaska is the largest state in the USA by area. The state has a unique and fascinating story, although most populace always ignores the past facts about this most popular land. What gives the history of Alaska a long lasting impression is the major series of crucial events that took place at one point and time.
The first inhabitants of the region were the Paleolithic families, who moved from Bering Land Bridge between 16,000 BC and 10,000 BC and made their settlement in the western side of the land. The main reason why Russia never colonized the land fully but rather sold it to the United States of America for $7,200,000 was due to low returns from its investments. This would never prevent the British and the Americans to get into contact with the region. In general, constant financial difficulties left no choice to Russia; it had to sell the land to the USA.
