The Patchogue Performing Arts Theater is managed by the Patchogue Village Center for the Performing Arts. Its mission is to become a cultural center in Long Island. But in order to achieve this goal, it's imperative that the establishment should present various performing arts in front of a large audience.

Patchogue Performing Arts Theatre can host a lot of theatrical performances from musical shows, live performances and films. It can also be utilized for educational presentations, community forums and commercial productions. The theatre for performing arts is situated on the East Main Street, Patchogue Village, Patchogue, New York.

The Patchogue performing Arts Theatre, formerly called Ward and Glynne's theatre, opened on May 23, 1923. It was described as the magnificent and largest theater on Long Island. It hosted Broadway productions and first-run feature films. The theatre became a movie house for more than forty years when the Prudential Theatre Circuit purchased the theatre in 1929.

In the year 1258, a fire ensued where the theater's lobby was destroyed. That's why a smaller lobby was developed. Additionally, 3 storefronts were created to the building's facade area.

The building transformed to a Multiplex with three theaters in 1980 when it was acquired by the United Artists. This transformation caters people in one place with more screens. But sadly, the establishment closed after functioning for many years.

For more than a decade, the theater was closed. But in 1997, it was acquired by the Patchogue Village Board. The businessman in the village even offered some funding to make the theater come back to life. Furthermore, the village people also did their roles to resurrect the building.

It took several years for the Patchogue Performing Arts Theater to be restored once again. But even though the renovation process was not completed, various shows were already occurring. These shows include: comedy, plays, auctions, ice shows, dancing, Broadways and many more contests. Today, the establishment already reached 1,226 seats. In 2002, a first-class sound system was finally installed.

Having through a lot of transition, the Patchogue Performing Arts Theatre now caters to a lot of performances. Various shows have been booked for presentation in the theatre as shown on its event calendar of its website.
