One of my favourite things to do as a child was watch TV. I would have watched even more if I was allowed to because it was something I couldn't get enough of. I thought people who didn't watch TV were very odd indeed and thought that a world without television would never happen.

But it is now thirty years later and my life has changed quite a bit. I don't actually own a TV anymore.

To prevent you from getting the wrong idea, I think I better explain. I haven't joined some strange back to nature cult, and I haven't taken up more intellectual pursuits. While I still love watching television these days and in fact watch more programmes than I ever did before, I do not actually watch them on a television set.

Watching my favourite TV shows online is something that I have become hooked on these days. I get to watch my favourite shows when I like to and where I like to. It is even possible for me to catch up with my favourite shows in the morning while travelling to work. If I'm completely honest here I'll also admit to the occasional program at work when I'm sitting at my desk.

Some people think that watching TV shows on the computer is not as enjoyable as watching them on a television but I don't agree with this. I have a really good sized LCD monitor on my computer that provides crystal clear picture quality. I also get great audio because of the sound system I have with the computer.

While it is true that my laptop won't give me the same sound and picture quality when I am on the move, there is no way I could carry a television set around with me either. I think that watching TV shows on my computer is ideal so I don't think I will be spending money on a TV again.
