The New Orleans Saints started out the season with all guns blazing. They have the potential to have the greatest offense the league has seen in the last 30 years which includes the 2007 New England Patriots team that set many NFL scoring records.

Drew Brees is playing like a MVP candidate and completing nearly 70% of his pass attempts, which is well above average. If he keeps this up, no defense can completely shut him down.

The Saints have weapons all round the field from RB Reggie Bush, WR Marques Colston, WR Jeremy Shockey, WR Devery Henderson, and RB Mike Bell. With such a potent offense the Saints can outscore anyone in the league -which means they are never out of the game no matter what the score is.

While their offense was effective, their defensive game was in shambles and something was missing from the team that had so powerfully established itself during the 2007 season.

To begin the 2009 season, the Saints were given a very easy opponent in the Detroit Lions. As expected, they went on to win this game rather easily.

The only challenge in the division should come from the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons are a good team with a future MVP in Matt Ryan, the Falcons offense may not be able to keep up with the Saints.

The New Orleans Saints are one of the 1 in 5 teams never to appear in a Super Bowl -- the others being the Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans, Cleveland Browns, and Detroit Lions.

We know what happened with the 07' New England Patriots - they were on the verge of the greatest NFL season of all time but were defeated in the Super Bowl by the New York Giants. It uncertain the Saints can be as great an offense as the Patriots were in 07', what will matter is how they execute in the playoffs.
