I am going to speak for a few minutes about roulette systems and if they work or not. So many people have tried and failed to make a successful roulette system.

A roulette system fails because of the house advantage. The advantage is down to the green slots, the zeros. For example, in European roulette, the house edge is 2.56%, this is difficult to beat.

A popular attempt at trying to overcome the house edge is by putting into practice a 'progressive roulette system'. This basically means that you raise your bets immediately after a loss in an attempt to cover all your losses once you get a win.

This has led to the bankruptcy of many people. When you use a progressive roulette system you always end up hitting a bad losing run and it can be very difficult to walk away. Many people place bets beyond their means to try and cover their losses.

There is another widely used roulette system - wheel bias. This is done by studying the wheel for a long time and registering which numbers come up more than others. You then bet on the numbers that have appeared most.

However, this system has also proved unreliable. If you don't spend enough time studying the wheel (it does have to be a long time) then it is possible to take numbers that have come up most as an indication of bias when they aren't.

Also, there is the added issue of the now excellently designed roulette wheels; there is near enough no bias in them at all. This means that the wheel bias system is pretty much useless.

It is very difficult to device a roulette system that works. Because of the steep house edge and the perfection of real roulette wheels most roulette systems end up failing long term.
